This was an excellent display from the Northants side who found themselves in 2nd place at the close of day 1, after a rousing performance on Saturday afternoon which saw us unbeaten in the afternoon's session with 9 points out of a possible 10 (8 wins and 2 halves for the confused amongst us!)

Unfortunately we came up against a very strong Cambridgeshire side on Sunday morning who were not in the mood to be denied. This left a very difficult deficit on Sunday lunchtime, which we were never able to bridge.

We were piped for 2nd place following a late charge from Lincolnshire who edged us by half a point.

This was nevertheless an historic year with a Northants record breaking tally of 24.5 points along with a very creditable 3rd place.

As you can see from the results breakdown some fantastic performances from our lads. In particular the sub par golf of Saturday afternoon will long remain in the memory.
