Staverton Ladies lift Cecil Leitch crown again

Staverton Park’s ladies team retained their Ladies Cecil Leitch title in thrilling fashion as they beat Wellingborough 3-2 in the final at Northampton GC.
Although Claire Guest (Wellingborough) and Jane Clifford (Staverton) were both successful with holes to spare, the middle three ties all went the distance.
Lema Townsend gave Wellingborough the advantage by taking the 18th hole, but Staverton held their nerve down the last in the other two games as Candice Jones and Elaine Loydall secured the vital points.
