Brown is County Champion again

Kingsthorpe’s Jack Brown was crowned Men’s County Strokeplay Champion for the second time after securing a three shot victory at Oundle.

Brown, who triumphed at Northants County in 2013, carded gross rounds of 70 and 71 to finish ahead of Charlie Salter (Northants County), Miles Mudge (Staverton) and Jamie Milligan (Wellingborough).

Salter picked up two other prizes as he clinched the net competition by two from Milligan with a 36-hole score of net 138.

The teenager was also part of the winning team alongside County colleagues Sam Henfrey and veteran Tony Lord, who has now clocked up over 35 appearances in the annual tournament.
