Seniors v. Warwickshire

Monday 29th June at Staverton G.C.

A beautiful morning greeted the players from Northamptonshire and Warwickshire.

The morning greensomes were halved 3 points to each side.

In the afternoon Warwickshire proved to be the stronger side in the ever increasing heat and the overall match result was 12 points to 6 in favour of Warwickshire.

Congratulations to Neil Courcey of Peterborough Milton playing in his first County Seniors match scoring a credible half alongside Ian Smith in the morning greensomes. Another new pairing was GarySlinn ofNorthamptonand David Thomson of Cold Ashby scoring 3 points in total for the team well done to you both.

Unfortunately the greens at Staverton are struggling at the moment, but the catering was the best the seniors have experienced for a long time.

Thank you to the chef and staff and also the Staverton members for giving up the course for the day.
