Ladies Vets 2nd v Lincolnshire match

Monday 4th June 2018 at Rushden GC

The 2nd Team match against Lincolnshire was played at Rushden Golf club, it was a cloudy start to the day, and I was hoping that the sun would come out, as the wind was quite chilly and the clouds looked like they were full of rain. We never saw the sun all day, it did not rain, so that was a blessing. 
I was really looking forward to this match, as the Lincolnshire Captain of the day, was a friend of mine that I had met and played with, In my first ever Vets match before she moved away to Lincolnshire. The teams were drawn out, and the first pairings teed off at 11.00am. I made myself comfortable on a chair waiting for the players to come round to the 9th hole. This is a very tricky par 3, up hill, pond in front of you, tree to the left and a big hedge on the right . Many balls found the hedge, one ball cleared the hedge by yards, but the best was to come , this Lady came up onto the Tee placed her ball on the ground, had a quick look at the green, head down and hit the ball. Well this ball went as straight as a arrow towards the flag hit the pin dropped to the floor and landed 10ft away from the hole. This was my shot of the day well done to you.  I would like to thank  Cara and her helpers in the Kitchen for the lovely meal we had, also I would like to thank Jane Houghton the Vets Delegate for all her help. Lastly I would like to say thank you to Dione our President for coming, its always a real pleasure to see her at the matches, and a big thank you to Carol my Vice Captain for all your help.  Last but not least a huge thank you to my team of Ladies who played today, I am a very proud Captain today with a 5/3 win beating Lincolnshire, thank you xx
