NGL Ladies Vets Summer Meeting

Monday 23rd July 2018 at Silverstone GC

I arrived at Silverstone Golf Club nice and early, only to find that Liz was already there. So between us we soon got things ready, because the 1st Ladies were teeing off at 8.30am. I was at the first Tee to welcome all the Ladies, watching one group after another making their way down the 1st fairway. It was getting hotter by the minute while I was out there, there was a tree next to the 1st tee which I shaded under between the groups of Ladies as they made their way from the club house to the tee. Sun Tan lotion was passed around between the teams, umbrellas were put up for shade, and there was an assortment of sun hats being worn, I should have put up a prize for the best one !!!!!
Dion our Lady President arrived and the two of us went out for a drive to watch some golf, we made it to the 16th hole, a par 3, over 3 ponds. This was nearest the pin for the Silver Division. We made ourselves comfortable, and watched as the Ladies came from the 15th green to the 16th tee. I was lucky that I was watching the Ladies on the 15th, as 1 Lady had unfortunately gone into a greenside bucker, and I watch her hit a beautiful shot out onto the green and into the hole. Well Done !! I also watched a Lady who hit a beautiful Tee shot onto  the 16th, missing out of a hole in one by a couple of feet Well Done to you !!
I hope that you all enjoyed your day, I was hoping that it would be a bit cooler for all of you. I would like to say thank you to Silverstone golf Club for having us for the day, and a big thank you to all the Ladies that took part in this Summer Meeting. Lastly thank you Liz, for all your hard work in making this a successful day.
