Friendly v Shropshire & Hereford

Kettering GC June 3rd 2019

Unfortunately the day started with a slight hiccup when one of our team had a "Senior moment" and failed to show up! Perhaps I need to send e-mails every 4 hours on the lead up to the event.! However a huge thank you to Nigel Palmer who stepped in with 30 minutes notice.,"What a star".

We got off to a slow start on a very windy morning , with greensomes result going 4 to 2 in favour of the visitors. After some excellent refreshments at lunchtime the team went out reinvigorated and took the afternoon fourballs by 7 to 5 resulting in an honourable  draw with 9 points each.

A big thank you to the Kettering team as we were looked after extremely well, and as usaul the food was excellent.

This was my first opportunity to play against S&H and  thoroughly enjoyed the golf, the company and the banter. I am looking forward to the return match next year.
