Friendly v Derbyshire

The morning greensomes were a close run affair with four of the six matches going to the 9th hole. However Derbyshire's strength in depth proved to be decisive taking the the morning points by 4 1/2 to 1 1/2.

After a few holes in the afternoon the weather was looking ominous, and with thunder rumbling in the background we all had our fingers crossed that the the storms were going to pass us by. A large clap of thunder quickly dashed our hopes and play was suspended.

On resumption , it was the visitors who took the upper hand. Later in afternoon more dark clouds appeared on the horizon and some players were grateful that their matches were finished before the next storm rolled in, and play was suspended again. When proceedings restarted Derbyshire were not put out of their stride and continued to dominate taking the afternoon matches 10-2 , taking the match 14 1/2 to 3 1/2.
