A closer match than it looks

This match was a must win for the opposition if they were to keep their hopes of winning the East Midlands  League alive. Seeing the tree-lined fairways from the clubhouse it was clear that a accuracy would more important than distance.

The morning foursomes got off to a good start with wins for Richard Cole & Alan Freeman followed by Brendon Moss & Richard Dalton. The next two matches were halved, but Leicestershire fort back winning the final two games to level the morning session.

The afternoon fourballs turned out to be close run affairs, with four of the six games being decided on the final hole. Moss & Dalton along with Greg Thomas & Mick Barnett achieved halves but with remaining games all going the way of Leicestershire the 10-2 afternoon score produced a 13-5 overall loss.
