NGL Women's Vets 2nds   match v Bedfordshire

24th August 2023 at Staverton Park GC

On an extremely warm day 16 ladies from Northamptonshire met at Staverton Park for their match against a Beds Seniors team - unfortunately after confusion by the Beds team Captain they only could bring 8 players not 8 pairs. It was decided to play 8 full pairs and the other ladies could play a game round the course.

Staverton Park is a hilly course, although it does allow some spectacular views across the countryside, and the very hot temperature with a clear blue sky was perhaps not the best conditions for playing. Some of the matches went to the 18th hole so I congratulate all who played and persevered to the end it was really hard work. Afterwards we had a lovely meal of cottage pie and veg in a private room behind the hotel bar which was a lovely setting.

Thank you to all ladies who played in tis match, and all the match throughout my year, I really appreciate it.

The result was a win 6 -2.
