NGL Women's Vets 2nds match v Leicestershire & Rutland

Following heavy rain overnight the course at Kirby Muxloe was heavy going and the rough long, playing conditions were hard as it was hot and humid and there were several big hills to negotiate The first hole involved a dogleg left with a blind shot to the green made trickier by a steep fall away to the right - difficult from the start then, and the 18th was a par 3 over water but not all matches had to play this hole. The ladies battled it out to the end. Afterwards a meal of pork steaks with madeira and mushroom sauce was enjoyed by all.
