NGL Women's Vets 3rd  match v Leicestershire & Rutland

19th June 2023 at Wellingborough GC

On a very hot and sultry day ladies from the 3rd Team came to Wellingborough GC to play a match against Leics + Rutland ladies. The day was so warm that the usual complementary chocolate was seriously melting by the time the last group went out, in fact when a lone cloud went across the sun it was a big relief for everyone. 
Wellingborough is a tricky course with plenty of interesting holes featuring water and a lot of uphill and downhill holes particularly on the back 9, the greens were fast but not too much so. The Leicestshire Captain said what a treat it was for her ladies (as it was for the Northamptonshire Ladies) to play such a prestigious course for one of the matches and everyone enjoyed themselves.
After a refreshing drink on the terrace we enjoyed a nice meal. The result of the match was a satisfying 5 - 3 to Northamptonshire.
