We travelled to Cambridge with a strong team and an expectation of a good performance. Jadon was a late replacement to the team for an injured Mark Bazeley. Cambridgeshire and ourselves were locked together in the table with one win each.
In the morning foursomes Jadon and Jack were paired with the Camridgeshire Captain Luke and his partner Matt. Local knowledge was to the fore and we were soundly beaten 6 & 5.
Match 2 saw Torin returning after injury playing with James, a good mix of youth and experience. Playing against Sam and Harry, our pair were always in control and played some good golf to win 3 & 2.
Captain Sam and Ben were in a tight tussle with Ellis and Chris. The Cambridgeshire pair pulling away late to win 3 & 2.
In the final game we saw another blend of youth and experience. Richard and Alec were tested to the full by Kevin and Hugh but came through with an excellent 2 & 1 win.
Score after morning Foursomes was 2 v 2.

Singles commenced with a good lead in time.
Ben had a slow start and was 4 down after 8, However he fought all the way and lost 3 & 2 in a good match.
Next up was Jack who had been searching for his form. He played some excellent golf in his match  before losing 2 & 1 late on against Matt.
Things were looking bleak at this stage!
Next up was young Jadon playing against Harry. The game was closely contested until midway through the back 9 when Jadon put his opponent under pressure and ran out a comfortable 4 & 3 winner to narrow the overall match score deficit.
James was out at number 4 against Sam Arthur and although the game was close James always had his nose in front to run out a 3 & 2 winner.
This levelled the match 4 v 4.
Alec took on Chris as the 5th game. This was a strange affair with Alec in control early 2 up before losing 2 holes in a row to go back to a/s.  Alec was in determined mood and again went 2 holes ahead and finished his game by winning 17 for a 3 & 1 win.
Richard at 6 was paired with Chris who played some excellent golf with long accurate driving and good putting. A win for Chris 4 & 2.
Sam at 7 was in a close tussle with Hugh and try as he may he couldnt quite pull Hugh back, again losing 17 for a 3 & 1 defeat.
Our anchor was Torin playing against Kevin. The match was even for about 12 holes when Torin put his foot down and together with the odd error from Kevin, saw Torin win 5 & 4 to give us the point and the match ended in a commendable 6 - 6 draw.

Many thanks to Cambridgeshire for their hospitality and Gog Magog Golf Club for presenting the Wandlebury Course in such excellent condition.
The catering was excellent and the young bar staff a credit to the Club.
The teams finish in joint 5th in the Div 2 league.
