NGL Women's Vets 2nds  match v Cambridgeshire & Hunts

20th May 2024 at Northampton Golf Club GC

On Monday May 20th 15 Northamptonshire Ladies Vet played a second team match against the Cambs Lady Vets at Northampton Golf Club on a warm and sunny day. The course looked beautiful in the sunshine but it is a long and difficult course particularly if you went into the rough as it was difficult to get out of it. All the matches were closely fought and most were still being played as we went up the 18th and the result, of some games, depended on the last put of the match. There were many weary ladies who climbed the stairs into the clubhouse and collapsed into the chairs at the end and the delicious and substantial meal provided was most welcome.
Special mention goes to Lizzie Crowe who, due to a late withdrawal, played on her own against two opponents.

Our best wishes go to the Cambs Captain (Roz Bartlett) who had to leave early due to illness and many thanks to her Vice-Captain Fiona for stepping into her place. Also thank you to Carol Colins (match secretary) for stepping in and taking charge of the match for the Northants ladies at the last minute.
The overall result was a win for Northants 6 - 2.
