NGL Women's Vets 3rds   match v Lincolnshire

25th July 2024 at Burghley Park GC

The Northamptonshire 3rd team Vets were all looking forward to playing Lincolnshire Vets at Burghley Park on Thursday 25th July. However, due to road works and an accident on the way there several ladies got held up so the pairings on the day had to be altered. 
We managed to field 6 pairs and 2 Lincolnshire players volunteered to play for us, one of them a past Northamptonshire player. The final score was 4 points to 3 in Lincolnshire's favour.
On a happier note 2 of our late comers were allowed to play 15 holes due to the helpfulness of Stewart Ward, the customer sales assistant.
The course was in lovely condition and luckily the rain kept away after a short shower at the beginning of the day.  Watching the teams coming down the 18th hole we were delighted to see Christine Macleod  chip in from a distance to record a birdie!
Everyone was delighted in the friendly manner the matches were played especially as some of our team were taking part for the first time and will now be encouraged to put their name down in the future. We enjoyed the Chicken Caesar salad served by a very helpful staff.
