U18s Junior Boys match v Leicestershire

We travelled to The Leicestershire Golf Club to play our final MGU match of the season. We fielded a good side and Leicestershire were at full strength.
Captain Kai Raymond, playing his last game for the County before flying out to North Carolina on a Golf Scholarship, partnered Jadon Pham and they played at number 1 in the morning Foursomes. A close game against the top Leicestershire pairing ensued and our pairing won the 18th to close out the game 2 up.
Despite the rest of the team playing well, Cameron and Harrison, Adam and Ollie and Ollie and Josh all found themselves on the wrong end of their games. A lot of the damage was done early and local knowledge played a key role in Leicestershire players winning the last 3 Foursomes games for a 3 v 1 lead at lunch.
Jadon was leadoff in the afternoon singles and early on holes were exchanged but after the turn both players parred almost everything and the game stayed all square until the end.
Kai was second off and it seemed that the Leicestershire Captain, Thomas Dziuba, was smarting after his Foursomes loss in the morning. He ran out a convincing winner .
The third match saw Harrison Panter starting slowly against Toby. After the turn Harrison's game kicked in and he started pulling back Toby's lead. Holes ran out and another point on the board for Leics.
Fourth off saw a battle of two Camerons. Despite Cameron finding some form he lost the game and with it the match.
At 5, Adam Haywood looked calm and composed and ran out a 3&1 winner against Patrick from Leics.
Next off was young Josh, just 12 years old, and he gritted his teeth and went out and played some incredible golf to run out a 6&4 winner.
The final two games were both close affairs but unfortunately they went the way of Leics. Ollie Walden losing 2&1 and Ollie Penberthy going down by just one hole.
Final match score Leics 8.5, Northants 3.5.
