East Midlands and Anglian League Seniors Match v Cambridgeshire

This is both an Anglian (A) and East Midlands (EM) fixture so it has high importance in where we finish at the end of the season.

The match was held at Overstone Park where we have had success in the past. This proved to be a wise choice as the team produced a strong performance from the start. We won the morning foursomes 4- 1 (A) and 4-2 (EM) and produced an even more dominant performance in the afternoon singles to register a result of 13-2 (A) and 14.5-3.5 (EM).

The conditions were not easy as the wind picked up throughout the day, this together with the local knowledge was the contributing factor.

Both teams commented favourably on the good condition of the course with the greens running true. We were well looked after by the staff all day and I want to thank Overstone past captain Andrew Macdonald and team member who helped ensure everything ran smoothly.

The team were rightly proud of this result, we are looking forward to the remaining fixtures against Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire as we are definitely in contention for both titles.
