Northamptonshire Women's Vets 1st team match v Lincolnshire

2nd June 2025 at South Kyme GC

It was not very far from Timbuktu or so it seemed early in the morning and following the tractors going to work in the fields.
The first team single handicappers opted not to play. Their excuse was the distance they had to travel.
However enthusiastic higher handicappers were eager to play and they played off scratch. Some for the first time.
A warm welcome from the Club and from Susan Brown the Lincolnshire Captain awaited us.
Susan had even booked a sunny day too.
Despite our best effort we lost 5.5 to 2.5.
However there was happiness and chatter throughout the dining room  and new friendships were made.
Thank you to all team members for taking part and for fighting for every point every putt and for being willing to travel and play for their Vets County team regardless of the distance.
