Northamptonshire W omen's Past Captains  match v Leicestershire & Rutland

10th July 2025 at Luffenham Heath GC

The Match against Leicestershire and Rutland took place on 10th July at Luffenham  Heath Golf Club in extreme heat.  The course was in excellent condition considering the dry spell recently and we were given a very warm welcome by the staff at, which must be, one of the best courses we have played this year.  It was a very tough heathland links type course and is host to the Regional Qualifier for the Open, so we may have trodden in the footsteps of future golfing greats

Our first five matches were won by the visitors followed by two losses and a half to give an overall result in Northamptonshire’s favour by 5 and half matches to two and a half.  Everyone was glad to retire to the relatively cool clubhouse and enjoy an excellent two course meal whilst recovering from what must have been one of the hottest days this year.
