Seniors v. Warwickshire

Monday 30th June at Stonebridge G.C.

Excellent is the only way to describe this win over Warwickshire.

The County side recording an 11-7 victory. The morning greensomes were halved 3 points each. In the afternoon fourballs fthe County were quick out of the blocks recording 4 wins in the first 5 pairings, and recording 8 points in total to Warwickshires 4.

Debutant Patrick Anderson of Kingsthorpe GC paired with David Thomson were one of 3 pairings to record maximum points.

The Club Captain of Stonebridge played with the Warwickshire Captain Mike Edwards in the morning as the Warwickshire Team were one short. He did exceptionally well, winning on his debut. For the afternoon session his place was taken by Warwickshire County Champion Mike Issit.

We would like to thank Stonebridge for hosting the match and to thank the Warwickshire side for their friendship and hospitality.

I was so proud of the side's, so called "high handicappers", it just shows that if you get the pairings right, it is all on the day.
