Forty six points was a magnificent winning score in the NGL Seniors Fourball Betterball Open as Peterborough Milton's Ted Dunn combined to good effect with Cold Ashby's Dennis Mathers at Wellingborough GC.
With Dunn at his consistent best throughout the day, Mathers came into his own around the turn as he posted gross birdies on the sixth, eighth and ninth holes, before bagging an eagle three on the par five 12th.
Northampton's Grahame Castle and Greg Thomas came closest to catching the leaders but their tally of 43 points was only sufficient for second prize as they finished one ahead of the home combination of Glenn Harris and Ricky Sanders.
