Kingsthorpe clinched the Intermediate League crown for the first time since 2017 after needing a play-off to beat defending champions Overstone Park in the Final at Cold Ashby GC.
After going through the group stages without defeat, before edging past Rushden in the last four, Kingsthorpe made a confident start to the Final as Elijah Woodward and Philip Summers both recorded 5&4 wins.
With Ben Rhodes and Simon Kerr always in control of their games, Kingsthorpe's hopes of securing a comfortable win depended on getting something from the other four ties - three of which went the distance.
Overstone had different ideas however as Phil Gardner, Peter Gasson and Daniel Barney all bagged points on the 18th hole, before Billy Beard defeated Lee O'Connor 4&3 in the final tie to leave the match all square.
Kingsthorpe, who lost all five Group matches in the last campaign in 2019, weren't to be denied however as O'Connor found his touch when it mattered to overcome Beard on the first extra hole.
