Competition Winners

The Collingtree Junior Open was held this Monday, where Juniors from around the County took part to play in our Open competition.  We had 46 Juniors down to play of which 19 were members of Collingtree.  The event attracts some talented Juniors, with the lowest handicap at 1.6. It was also great to see a good turnout of girls, there were 12 that registered to play across the two competitions (9 & 18 holes).

The greenkeepers did a fantastic job setting the course up.  It showed just what a good course and tough test it is, with the best gross score being 77 and the best net being 71 (or level par), not many events will have the winner playing to their handicap!

The winner of the Girls Gross competition was Lila Bisset and Boys Gross Competition was Ollie Penberthy, both members of Northants County.  In the Nett, the winner of the girls was our very own Edie Connolly (great job!) and in the Boys the winner was Harry Odell, who won only on countback from our own Seb Welch (great scoring off the white tees Seb!).

In the 9 hole competition, Jess Walker from Collingtree was runner up in the girls with Sophia Vanezi, once of Collingtree using her local knowledge to win the girls event.  In the boys,Zac Davidson was runner up with the winner being Zac Dunkley from Northants County.  Well done to all our juniors (and parents) for turning out and supporting the event.
