Collingtree Park Junior Open - Monday 6th May

With 49 Juniors competing in the 9-hole and 18-hole events, it was an excellent turnout, and finally some good conditions to play golf.  The course was set up superbly by Dan Scott and the greenkeeping team, after a very wet winter.  With 6 trophies, for boys/girls, 9 hole stableford and 18 hole net and gross events the competition was strong.

In the 9 hole competitions congratulations to Jessica Walker from Collingtree Park, with 20 Stableford points winning the girl's event and Ethan Ruiz from Daventry & District winning the boy's trophy with 23 points.

In the 18 hole Gross competitions there was only one winner of the girl's event. Lila Bisset of Northants County shot an incredible 5 under par 66, including just 30 shots on the back 9, including back-to-back Eagles. This set a new women's course record. In a slightly closer boy's event, the winner with a very respectably Gross 73, was Kai Raymond from Peterborough Milton, winning for the second consecutive year.

Finally in the 18 hole Net competitions the scoring was again close, in the girl's event congratulations to Sophia Vanezi from Northampton Golf Club with a net 69 and in the boy's event, congratulations to Krishan Panesar from Collingtree Park with a net 68.

In the nearest the pin;  Jessica Barby from Collingtree won the 9 hole prize being closest on the 7th.  With Isaac Hedger from Peterborough Milton, nearest the pin on the 17th hole, winning the 18 hole competition prize.

Thank you to all the Juniors and Parents for making the day and to all the helpers that supported the event.
