Cole is on fire again

NGU County Seniors Champion Richard Cole.

Peterborough Milton’s Richard Cole retained his NGU County Seniors Strokeplay crown with a two stroke victory in the 2014 tournament at Whittlebury Park GC.
 
The defending champion, who also finished runner-up in 2011 and 2012, carded a gross round of 76 to get the better of Peter Collins (Cold Ashby).

After finishing three shots further back, Paul Walters lifted the President’s Trophy for the best net score of 74 as he nudged one ahead of Kingsthorpe club-mate Tim Johnson and home club member Ken Hignett.
 
Michael Cheney (Northants County) won the 55-59 age category, Steve Maxwell (Kettering) clinched the 60-64 age section, while Mike Abbotts (Northants County) won the player aged over 65.

The team gross honours went to Milton’s Ted Dunn, Doughie Hill and Cole (249), while the Northants County trio of John Cordner, Stephen Battison and Malcolm Pounds (234) secured the team net price.
