Kettering trio win on home turf

Kettering’s Darrin Keech, Stuart Swann and John Allen took full advantage of local knowledge as they won the NGU Izzard Trophy on their home course after shooting 100 points.
The Overstone Park trio of Darren Parke, Mark Tindle and Stephen Moore came closest to snatching the top prize but had to settle for second spot with 99.
On a difficult day for scoring with the wet conditions and fast greens, defending champions Farthingstone finished in third as Graham Clinton, Adam Smith and Michael Barnett hit a combined points score of 88.
Players from the same three teams carried off the top three individual prizes as Allen and Parke both carded 37 points, while Barnett shot 36.
Staverton Park's Gary Dorney had plenty to celebrate after he bagged a hole-in-one at the fourth - not that he would have known much about it, since it's a blind tee shot!!!
