Final - Matthew Myers v Sam Henfrey
The match started evenly with the first three holes being halved.
Myers then jumped into a two hole lead with steady pars to Henfrey’s bogeys.
Henfrey hit back at six with an excellent birdie only to lose the next hole to a par.
Myers then overshot the green at nine to concede the hole but started the back nine with a one hole advantage.
Henfrey suffered some really bad luck on 10 when his wedge struck the flagstick and shot off the green. He then failed to get down in two from off the green to lose the hole to a sound par from Myers.
Pars on the short 11th saw the two drive off the par five next hole with Myers leading by two. Henfrey’s five iron second to the 12th green was immaculate and finished 12 inches from the cup for a guaranteed eagle. Myers’ eagle attempt came up short meaning his advantage was halved.
Although Myers drove into the trees on the left of the 13th fairway, he played an immaculate shot from under a tree, over another tree and missing the large tree guarding the left side of the green to land on the green.
Henfrey's luck again deserted him as his drive finished in the semi rough with a large lump of mud on the side of the ball. This moved his shot off line and he missed the green to the left, where he was unable to get up and down. With Myers carding a solid par, this proved to be a defining moment in the game.
Solid pars from both players on 14 left Myers two up playing 15 when again bad luck struck Henfrey.
Preparing to play to the green from the rough, he grounded his club and the ball moved off its spot. To his credit he stood back and called the penalty on himself - a superb piece of sportsmanship which is to be commended.
This left Myers three up on the 16th tee. He played a utility to the centre of the fairway and then pitched to the left side of the green. Henfrey's drive finished in the fringe just off the green but again he could only manage par while Myers two-putted for his par to retain his title with a 3&2 victory.
Third/fourth play-off - Ben Jones v Charlie Salter
Ben Jones at last found his form with longer and straighter drives, while Salter again could not find his putting touch and lost several holes by three putting.
Salter cut the lead to three holes at the eighth with a stunning shot from the edge of a bunker finishing 12 inches from the hole.
However this was a short lived respite with Jones continuing to play solid golf as the match ended on the 13th with a simple par for Jones in a 6&5 win.
Semi Final 1 - Henfrey v Jones
Henfrey set his stall out by sending his first drive over 250 yards landing just short of the green. A birdie followed.
Another birdie followed at the fourth hole after Jones found the water on the par three.
Pars at the following five holes, meant Henfrey led by four holes at the turn.
The second par three at 11 was also birdied by Henfrey, whose game was immaculate.
The 12th was reached in two by both players, resulting in birdies.
The match ended at the 14th after Henfrey’s 260 yard three wood found the heart of the green and despite a brave chip-in from Jones, two putts from Henfrey resulted in a 5&4 win.
Semi-final 2 - Myers v Salter
Myers played consistent golf throughout the front nine, reaching the turn in level par and four holes up.
Salter was struggling on the greens, but found his putting touch on the inward stretch.
After 13 holes, Myers remained four up but a winning birdie four on 14 spurred Salter on and he stormed back at Myers to bring the match level after 18 holes.
Myers held his nerve on the 19th hole and a two-putt par was enough to see him through to the final.
