Play-off success for young Watts

Owen Watts (Kingsthorpe) lifted the inaugural County Academy Par Three Championship trophy with a dramatic victory at Brampton Heath on Sunday, March 20th.

The 13-year-old finished level with Peterborough Milton’s Jacob Williams after both shot a gross level par total of 27 over nine holes.

With a play-off needed on the practice putting green, Watts carded a two on the second hole to claim the glass claret jug, donated by Mike Cichuta.

The best net prize went to home club member Ethan La Porta, who fired a magnificent score of net 13 to finish two and a half strokes clear of Kai Raymond (Peterborough Milton).
