2016 - Memorable year for NGL

NORTHANTS Boys Under-18’s reached the England Finals for the second successive year as they went on to finish third in the 2016 tournament at Cumberwell Park GC.

In three tight matches, the line-up of Ben Jones, Callum Farr, Charlie Salter, Tom Forster, Fergus Robinson and Luke Barney beat Yorkshire, but lost to Hertfordshire and host county Wiltshire.

Northamptonshire reached the national finals after winning the qualifying competition by an incredible 14 strokes from Staffordshire at Kidderminster GC.

Salter led the way as the 16-year-old an carded five birdies in both his rounds to shoot the leading an individual 36-hole total of one-under-par 143.
