2016 - Memorable year for NGL

BEN Jones (Northants County) was crowned 2016 Boys County champion after holding off the challenge of Callum Farr (Priors Hall) by three strokes over 36 holes at Overstone Park GC. In difficult wet weather conditions, Jones carded 72 and 71.

The County Girls Championships saw a far more convincing victory as Whittlebury Park’s Natasha Ainsley-Thomas posted the best gross round in both the morning and afternoon to finish 10 ahead of Wellingborough’s Rebecca MacLaren.

Richard Cole produced a magnificent three-under-par back nine at Collingtree Park GC to pull three shots clear of Alistair Heslop (Whittlebury Park) in the County Seniors Championship, which was played over 18 holes.

The Peterborough Milton member, who also won the gross and net team prizes alongside Ian Kerr and Ted Dunn, carded a gross round of 74.
