2016 - Memorable year for NGL

TEENAGER Matt Myers was crowned NGL Men’s Strokeplay champion for the first time after recording a two stroke success over 36 holes at Kettering GC.

The 18-year-old was a model of consistency in the first round as he carded a score of 70, before the Northants County member birdied the 14th, 16th and 17th holes in the afternoon to take the plaudits with a total of 137.

Home club member James Northern came through to grab second position as he fired six birdies in a brilliant second round of 66.

Thalia Martin (Peterborough Milton) lifted the Ladies County Championship title for the first time as she beat reigning champion Mary MacLaren (Wellingborough) 2&1 in the final on her home course.
