Teenager secures Northamptonshire Adult Par 3 title

Kingsthorpe’s Elijah Woodward emphasised his chipping and putting skills by winning the County Adult Par 3 Championships crown over 18 holes at Brampton Heath GC.

In a field that included players involved in the county first and second teams, the 16-year-old outshone them all as he carded a one-under-par gross total on the short course.

Club-mate Mark Bazeley finished second on level par, with former county strokeplay champion Miles Mudge (Staverton) a further shot adrift in third place.
